February 10, 2026 — We are thrilled to announce that Kyle Hill, BASILISK’s Head of Science Education and Outreach, has been [awarded an honorary doctorate] in technology by LUT University in Finland. Kyle will be formally conferred at LUT’s prestigious Ceremonial Conferment of Doctoral Degrees on May 23rd in Lappeenranta, the university’s most celebrated tradition, complete with doctoral hats and swords.

Kyle was recognized by LUT alongside professors, business leaders, and heads of major institutions, because that’s exactly the company he belongs in. As a science communicator and entertainer with millions of followers across YouTube and social media, Kyle has spent his career making complex science accessible, exciting, and genuinely fun for audiences who might never set foot in a lecture hall. That’s precisely the mission BASILISK was built for, and it’s why we’re proud to have him leading our science education and outreach efforts.

Congratulations, Dr. Hill. The lab coat just got an upgrade.
